Erin Woodward

 
 

Erin Woodward is a teacher, director, and performer. She has worked for over fifteen years in NYC DOE Title 1 public schools as a dual-certified Theater and ELA teacher, during which she co-produced and directed theater collaborations between multiple Manhattan high schools. As an applied theater artist and facilitator, Erin has worked with public and private education organizations, Picture the Homeless, the University of Rwanda College of Education, and has presented at the AFT TEACH Conference. Erin has performed and directed in myriad Off-Off Broadway theaters and play festivals; she continues to work on having and making sparkly fun as a clown named Hope with Fizgig Studios’ Some Clowns.

In 2018, Erin co-founded EmberArts, an applied theatre group, and has designed and facilitated projects for the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Teachers Center, Library of Congress, and multiple communities in the NYC area. She holds a BFA in Theatre from New York University, an MS in Teaching from Pace University, and an MA in Applied Theatre at CUNY School of Professional Studies, the first applied theater program in the country.
